French music publication names album ‘Album of the Month’ as streams surpass 1.2 million worldwide

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — Knoxville-area songwriter Terry Glen Adams is gaining international attention following the release of his latest album, Country Music, which has quickly built a global audience and earned recognition from international music media.

Released Jan. 23, 2026, the album has already generated more than 1.2 million streams worldwide, with Adams reaching over 260,000 listeners across more than 10 countries on Spotify during the past year. The record has connected strongly with audiences in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and across Europe. The album’s growing reputation was recently highlighted when the French publication CountryMusicMag.net named Country Music its ‘Album of the Month.’

ARTIST BACKGROUND Adams’ music blends classic country storytelling with lived experience. A Tennessee native and U.S. Navy Reserve veteran, he writes songs shaped by service, family roots and the everyday stories of small-town America.

“Tennessee is home. The songs on this record come from real life, service, family, the places we grow up and the people who shape us.” Adams also comes from a true Nashville songwriting lineage. His mother, Shirley Adams (Wood), wrote the Connie Smith hit “Cry, Cry, Cry.” One of Adams’ proudest musical moments came when the two shared the stage together at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. His sound draws inspiration from artists like Robert Earl Keen, the Randy Rogers Band and the Turnpike Troubadours, as well as classic country storytellers such as Tom T. Hall, Dolly Parton and Kris Kristofferson.

ABOUT THE ALBUM The new album features songs that capture both the grit and warmth of Southern life, including “All I Know About Texas,” “Countyline Road” and the new single “Dog Bite Town.” The album’s first single, “Country Ain’t Country No More,” pays tribute to the steel guitars, small-town DJs and traditional sounds that defined classic country radio. Adams has collaborated with Nashville writers including Wayne Mills, Dave Kennedy, Jeffrey Steele and Channing Wilson, and is an alumnus of the original Jeffrey Steele Songwriter’s Bootcamp. In 2025 he also showcased his work at the Isle of Palms Songwriter’s Festival. “It’s music about real people and real lives. That’s what country music has always been about.”

BEYOND THE MUSIC In addition to his music career, Adams maintains a respected professional career as an attorney, community leader and entrepreneur. Yet songwriting has remained his constant throughout. “I’ve been writing songs longer than I can remember. At the end of the day, music has always been my north star.”
